Not dead

Has it been that long since I posted here? Oh my..

Despite many personal things going on the time has certainly been quite eventful and productive.

My ASCII drawing program advASCIIdraw was fairly well received and I found the time to update it twice, shortly after release, adding vital features like PNG export. I got dozens of downloads within that first short period and despite not having updated or even talked about it in months, there is still the occasional download every few days, reaching a total of 140 downloads yesterday. Given the very niche nature of the program, and also that it is the first I ever really released publicly I consider this quite a success.
It is a shame though, my main motivation behind making it on ice, and with other projects popping up all over the place, I did not get a chance to update the program further, as I planned to originally. This does not mean that that is never going to happen however. Developing advASCIIdraw to the point where it is was a lot of fun, and while I probably would start from scratch should I ever continue, I hope that some day that will happen.
Who knows, should all of a sudden an interest in a program like this become apparent, that day may be closer than it may seem right now.

In other news, after working on some smaller random things this spring, this summer I have been working on a rather larger project with a team of nine people. After two months our game ReXForce has become quite playable and is beginning to be presentable enough to start talking about getting it out there. For that purpose we have been to Gamescom a few days ago, where we talked to several publishers regarding our options. And while nothing is fixed yet, it seems clear that it is only a matter of time until we will have our game out there for everybody to see.

For now let me just say that it has been quite a ride already, working with what for me is quite a large team, being responsible for physics and the entire rendering system in a multiplayer game of fair complexity, being created from scratch in a period of only two months. Not to mention creating and tending to the website.
And it is not even over yet, with a few features and a lot of assets still missing, and a list to of polishing, play testing and balancing still lying ahead. But in the end I am sure we will all be able to say that we created something awesome, and maybe you will agree!

Well, I think this is enough for now. I will see about posting here more often than before in the future, but I wont make any promises.
